Birth Chart
A birth chart—also called a natal chart—is a map of you. It reveals who you are. Your chart is a circular diagram that shows the location of all the planets in the sky at the exact moment you were born. It’s like a freeze frame snapshot. It displays where the ten planets, twelve zodiac signs, twelve houses, and aspects were at your birth.
To create a chart, you need your birth date (day, month, and year), exact birth time (to the minute), and your birth location (city, state, country).
Head over to the Chart Maker to create your free birth chart. Plug in your birth details. You can create a chart faster than you can say “To the Moon and back.”
A quick note here: You’ll need your exact birth time to create an accurate chart. Your birth time determines your rising sign. It also sets up the signs connected to each of your twelve houses.
Without your exact birth time, you won’t know which areas of your life the planets are playing out their energies. Even a few minutes off your actual birth time can make a difference in your chart.
If you only have a general idea of when you were born, like “in the morning,” you can pick a time like 8:00 a.m. Just know that your chart won’t be as accurate in describing who you are.
If you have no idea when you were born, use 12:00 p.m.—noon—as a place holder. But again, your chart won’t be able to tell you a lot of details about yourself.
